White Dragon Abyss: Zane’s Cyber Dragons
Starting this week, you can get cards from some of Dueling’s greatest rivals in Legendary Duelists: White Dragon Abyss! Today we’ll look at one of the greatest Duelists from Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, the master of the Cyber Art style himself – Zane Truesdale! You can combine the new and old cards found here with the other new Cyber Dragons from Cybernetic Horizon, making the ultimate Cyber strategy!
It wouldn’t be a Cyber Dragons without a Fusion Monster, so let’s kick things off with the all-new Cyber Eternity Dragon!
Zane hit quite a dark patch during the events of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, but he’s grown a lot since then. This shows with Cyber Eternity Dragon, a card reminiscent of the mighty Cyber End Dragon. While Cyber End is the ultimate monster to have on offense, Cyber Eternity takes a defensive approach that focuses on unity with your other Machines.
Cyber Eternity Dragon has the same incredible stats as Cyber End, but with the ATK and DEF swapped. It’s much easier to Fusion Summon, though – you only need one “Cyber Dragon” monster (that is, including but not limited to the original Cyber Dragon!) along with any two Machines. Cyber Eternity also has three powerful effects:
-If you have a Machine-type Fusion Monster in your Graveyard, Cyber Eternity cannot be targeted or destroyed by your opponent’s card effects! This can be any Machine Fusion Monster, so you can get one in the Graveyard easily throughout the Duel through your usual Fusion plays, or with the effects of Instant Fusion or Cyber Dragon Nova.
-After you’ve Fusion Summoned Cyber Eternity Dragon, if it goes to the Graveyard you’ll get to Special Summon Cyber Dragon from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard. This way, even if your opponent finds a way past the first effect, you’ll still keep a strong monster on the field.
-Once it’s in your Graveyard, you can banish Cyber Eternity to grant its first effect to all of your Fusion Monsters! This makes it much safer to follow up Cyber Eternity with another dangerous Fusion Summon like Cyber Twin Dragon.
With these three effects, Cyber Eternity Dragon is a perfect fit in any Cyber Dragon strategy! Next, here’s a new way to play all your Fusion Monsters!
Cyberload Fusion is used to play any Fusion Monster that has Cyber Dragon as a Fusion Material. The materials get shuffled into your Deck, and you can use any monster on your field or that you have banished! Just remember, the turn you play Cyberload Fusion, only the Fusion Summoned monster will be able to attack.
If you’re familiar with Cyber Dragons, you’re probably thinking “I really want to play this after Overload Fusion!” and you’re absolutely right – Overload Fusion for Chimeratech Rampage Dragon or Chimeratech Overdragon sets you up perfectly for Cyberload Fusion. But don’t make the mistake of thinking Overload Fusion is the only card to use! Cyberload Fusion is an amazing follow-up to a number of other Cyber cards. Cyber Eltanin and Cybernetic Overflow are both strong ways to clear your opponent’s field, and then you can follow up with Cyberload Fusion for some major damage. Cybernetic Overflow can even search out Cyberload Fusion, making them a perfect pair.
Finally, there’s a brand new Trap Card, named after one of the most iconic booster packs of all time, where Cyber Dragon first debuted!
The powerful Cybernetic Revolution will upgrade one of your Cybers into a more powerful form! By Tributing any Cyber Dragon, you’ll Special Summon from your Extra Deck any Fusion Monster that uses Cyber Dragon as a Fusion Material. That means with just two cards, you can play your most powerful Fusion Monsters! You can even play Cyber Dragon Core and search out Cybernetic Revolution to instantly put this combo together!
Such sudden upgrades come at a cost though – the Fusion Monster can’t attack directly, and will be destroyed in the next turn’s End Phase. Try using Cybernetic Revolution when you’re able to use Cyber End Dragon’s piercing damage, or are able to attack multiple monsters with Cyber Twin Dragon or Chimeratech Rampage Dragon. Your safest option is to use Cybernetic Revolution to play Cyber Eternity Dragon. It will defend with its 4000 DEF and its first effect, and when it goes to the Graveyard next turn, you’ll be able to use its other two effects!
Zane’s cards changed the face of Dueling when they arrived in 2005, and continue to be a powerful force to this day! Put together your own Cyber Art strategy with Legendary Duelists: White Dragon Abyss, releasing Friday![/quote]
